Model Evaluation for Research Innovation Transition

MERIT Case List

MERIT analyses currently include four cases of interest. All simulations were run through the testing framework established by the DTC for the FV3GFS to produce baseline results using the Model Evaluation Tools (MET) and python plotting tools. Seven- to twelve-day forecasts were run with the FV3 model for each case with 6-hourly output. Objective verification was conducted for surface and upper-air temperature, specific (relative) humidity and wind speed as well as 6-hr precipitation accumulation. Reports for each case study can be found on the right-hand side of this webpage. Interested parties may also request the full suite of results by contacting a team member.
