High-Resolution Hurricane Test

Model Descriptions

Six modeling groups participated in the High Resolution Hurricane Test. The DTC made every effort to avoid putting undue constraints
on the configuration of the numerical models. Each modeling group has extensive expertise in hurricane forecasting and is currently
employing a broad spectrum of physics parameterizations, data assimilation techniques and coupling complexities, making it
impossible to expect all groups to use the same configuration. The minimum guidelines outlined in the test plan allowed the modelers
to employ the best features of each forecast system. A three letter id was assigned to each group (AOM, MMM, NRL, PSU, URI, UWM)
and basic information on each model configuration is provided under the tab with their corresponding id.
