Grid-to-Grid Precipitation
Frequency bias and Fractions Skill Score (FSS) were used to quantify the precipitation coverage and spatial match against analyses. For the CONUS, the Climatology-Calibrated Precipitation Analysis (CCPA) analyses were used, while for global domains the verification used the Climate Prediction Center (CPC) morphing technique (CMORPH) data set. The figures below display examples of frequency bias and FSS as a function of accumulated precipitation threshold aggregated over the CONUS domain for 6-h accumulations at select forecast lead times for all four suites.
