Overview
The over arching goal of the CCPP is to provide a mechanism of linking an arbitary atmospheric model to an arbitrary set of physical parameterizations. It assumed that for the given atmospheric model, a number of physics schemes might need to be linked. Furthermore it is assumed that individually porting new physical parameterizations into an atmospheric model, as has traditionally been the case, is a time consuming and error prone effort.
